# cancel_content

> Cancels a content draft: sets its status to cancelled, so it leaves the drafts backlog and the calendar.

Cancels a content draft: sets its status to cancelled, so it leaves the drafts backlog and the calendar. Never deletes and never publishes; the draft stays in list\_content with status cancelled.

Only a draft made by the same person's AI connection that hasn't been posted or approved can be cancelled; otherwise nothing changes. Scheduled drafts can't be cancelled here.

Each cancel counts toward the same daily limit as drafting (50 a day on a drafts-only connection).

Use this when:

* An older version of a draft is still queued. For a new version, create\_content\_draft with supersedes\_id cancels the old one in the same step.
* The person says a draft is no longer wanted.

Skip when:

* The content was posted and later removed: use mark\_content\_unposted.

## Inputs

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `content_id` | `integer` | yes | — | ID of the draft to cancel. |
