# get_content_body

> Returns the full body text of one content item, plus its title, SEO metadata, and status.

Returns the full body text of one content item, plus its title, SEO metadata, and status. This is how you pull a finished piece out of Citable and into your own website, CMS, or workflow.

Use this when:

* You're publishing a Citable-drafted article on your own site and need the actual text.
* You have a content id (from list\_content, create\_content\_draft, emit\_content, or get\_action\_with\_children) and want what's inside it.
* You want to quote, repurpose, or adapt an existing piece.

Skip when:

* You want a list of content (use list\_content — it returns metadata + ids; pair it with this tool).
* You want a quality score for the text (use score\_content).
* You want citation performance for a posted piece (use get\_attribution\_report).

Response (structuredContent): \{ contentId, title, contentType, status, format ('html' or 'markdown'), body, wordCount, characterCount, seo: \{ metaTitle, metaDescription, slug }, postedUrl, postedAt, scheduledFor, createdAt, updatedAt }. The text response is the body itself, ready to use. Blog bodies are usually HTML (they come from the rich-text editor); social bodies are plain text or markdown — check 'format'.
